You're the Bomb from Wild Card 2

Today my husband was working on the reading nook in my craftoom (YAY!) so I spent some time crafting while he was working. :)

You're the Bomb is from Wild Card 2 and is too funny.  One of our friends is having a birthday tomorrow, and I thought it would be the perfect card for him.

The card and envelope were cut out at 4 3/4 inches and it sure had a ton of layers!

The paper I used was all given to me, so I am not sure where it came from.  I also put a silver brad in the hands of the clock to give it a little something extra.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone had a good weekend! :)

Welcome Home with Wild Card 2

I sure am enjoying the Wild Card 2 cartridge.  It really has a ton of cute card ideas!

This card is for my sister-in-law and her fiance who are buying their first house.  Because they were already living in the house they purchased, I wanted to do something special once they signed the papers and the house was finally theirs! :)

The card and envelope were cut out at 4.75 inches.  The booklet says 4.5 inches, but I always check to see if I can cut it bigger. :)  I used some kind of pop dots (can't remember exactly which brand) to pop up the house on the front and also the welcome home on the inside of the card.  A pewter colored brad was used for the door knob.

The paper (except for the card and envelope) were all left over scraps.  A lot of my paper and card stock was given to me by friends that either have too many supplies or aren't scrapbooking anymore, so I don't know where a lot of it came from.

Congrats Brandi and Kyle on your new house!!!!!!!! :) :)

Mr. & Mrs. Card from Artiste cartridge

My cousin and a friend were just married and I wanted to make a special card for them.  I scrap lifted this idea from Everyday Cricut (http://www.cricutholiday.com/2012/08/cricut-artiste-wedding-card.html) who have made some great projects with the Artiste cartridge.

Their wedding colors are navy blue and light blue, so I wanted to make something that reflected those colors.  On the Artiste cartridge I used the heart envelope on page 36 and cut it out at 4.25 inches.  For the card I used the one on page 56 and it was cut out at 4.5 inches.  The stamp on the inside of the card is from Inkadinkado and is number 97892.  There are some really cute wedding stamps on this set.

The wedding was last night and it was so fun! :)  My husband was one of the groomsmen, and he looked very handsome in his suit.  Congrats Dave and Kerri!

Magazine Holder with Artiste Cartridge

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I had a day all to myself yesterday, so I got some crafting time in! :)

Here is a quick project using the Artiste Cartridge and what I like to call the magazine holder on page 47.

This was cut out at 6 inches.  The paper I used is from the Recollections Signature O' Christmas Tree paper pad.  It came together very quickly and easily.

Now I have a holder for all my various pop dots! :)

Thanks a bunch with Wild Card 2

Wow, I can't believe it has been almost a month since my last post!  Life has been crazy busy!! :)

Thank you cards are something I never have on hand, but always need, so I though it would be a good idea to make the Thanks a Bunch card on Wild Card 2.

The card and envelope were cut at 5 inches.  The booklet says to cut out at 4.5 inches, but I was able to get it to fit at 5.  Putting the card together actually took a little thinking because there are 6 layers of bananas to put together, but it looks really cool when all put together.

I am just getting over a small flu bug, but am finally feeling better today.  I hope everyone is having a good weekend! :)

Crafting with Kaitlyn

Today I got to craft with my friend Kaitlyn! :)  We had so much fun.  I let her look through the Artiste cartridge booklet and she wanted to make the mailbox.  It was cut out at 3 inches.

We also made a pinwheel from the Artsite cartridge.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!! :)

Owl Card from Wild Card 2

I recently purchased the Wild Card 2 cartridge and have been itching to play around with it.  One of my friends is moving into a new apartment, so I thought this was a good excuse to make a cute card for her.  I decided on the Owl card.  He is soooo cute! :)

I cut the card and envelope out at 4.75.  The best thing about this card was, except for the envelope, was the rest of the paper were left over scraps. :)  I save most of my scraps and it felt good to actually use them.  On the inside of the card, I cut out the words "Whooooo's Moving?? :)

I also tried to cut out a flower from the Artiste cartridge and glue it to the front of the envelope, but it kept unraveling.  I didn't really have anything small enough to wrap it around.  After looking on Youtube (another wonderful resources for crafting) I saw a few people use a paper piercer which is on my list for the next trip to the craft store.

Hopefully I will have some time this weekend to make some projects with the Artiste cartridge.  There are sooo many things I want to make from it, that I don't know where to start! :)

Yay for the Close to My Heart Artiste Cricut Cartridge :)

Today I spend ALOT of time in my craft room, which was awesome!  I really got to play around with the Close to My Heart Artiste cartridge which was soooo much fun!  I usually need to have a reason to craft something and have a hard time making things just for the fun of it.  With this cartridge, it was definitely easy to find things to make!

I love how an assembly book was included in the cartridge.  It made putting the items together so much easier.

This box definitely says Christmas, so I choose some poinsettia paper from a paper pad called O'Christmas Tree from Recollections.  I didn't quite have the right ribbon on hand to tie up the box, but you get the idea.  This box is on page 34 in the handbook and was cut out at 4.5 inches.

The next one is on page 37 and was cut at 4 inches.  This one reminds me of a happy meal box, so that's my nickname for this one. :)  This cardstock was given to me, so I'm not sure where it from, but it is a mint green color.

This one is on page 48 and is cut out at 3.2 inches.  I think this one is my favorite and reminds me of a hat box.  I also cut out the bow on page 55 and used a silver brad to hold it together.  The pattern paper is a paper pad from DCWV called The Naturals Stack.

The next shape I made was the candy box.  This is on page 68 and was cut out at 11 inches.  The paper is from the O'Christmas Tree Recollections paper pad. I used some curling ribbon to bring the edges together.  This will be another fun one for Christmas gifts.

The last one I had time for was on page 69 and was cut out at 3.5 inches.  I really like this one as well and has some great potential for being a treat box to give out a Christmas time.  It's kind of hard to see, but I placed some vellum on the underside of the lid, so there wasn't actually a hole, but you can kind of see through it.  The pattern paper is from Me & My Big ideas and the paper pad is called Specialty Cardstock.

This cartridge has sooo much more to offer and I can't wait to play around with it some more.  I have a feeling it is going to come in very handy at Christmas time as well. :)  Hope everyone had a great weekend and here's to a good week!

Wild Card 2 and Artiste Cartidge

Last week I went on a little buying spree, which is very unusual for me.  I purchased Wild Card 2 and the Close To My Heart cartridge Artiste with the coordinating chip boards and stamp sets.  I am beyond excited to try each one and hope to break them out this weekend.

Things have been crazy this week and I haven't had much time to craft at all.  Willy (our new puppy) is growing so fast already and turns 9 weeks today.  I now know why puppies are so cute... it's because they can be very naughty! :)  Fortunately, he hasn't chewed up anything (yet) but he is definitely a bitter which we will need to nip in the butt.

Hope everyone is having a great week and hopefully I will be able to post some cool projects this weekend! :)

Masculine Birthday Card with Wild Card Father

Shew... life sure has been busy with the new puppy in town!  I was able to sit down tonight for a bit and make a birthday card for my father-in-law for his birthday tomorrow.  It was made with the Wild Card cartridge.  I used the Father card on page 66.  I cut the card and envelope out at 4 1/2 inches.  I also cut out the envelope liner, frame for the card and both icons, the fish and grass.

I also went on a little buying spree today and bought the Wild Card 2 cartridge and the Close to My Heart Artiste Cartridge, which I am soooo excited to get!  It will be so much fun to play with.  I can't wait for it to arrive.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week and hopefully I will have some time for crafting this weekend!

A new Puppy!!! :)

Wow... what a whirlwind it has been around our house the last few days.  We got a puppy!! :)

His name is Wilbur (Willy for short) and he is soooo stinking cute I can hardly stand it. :)  He is a Golden Retriever.  Needless to say, I haven't had much time to craft, but hope to get back into the swing of things this work.  Puppies are definielty a lot of week, but TOTALLY worth it :)

Monkey birthday card using George & Basic Shapes

Today is my husband's 35th birthday!!  This year I decided to make him a monkey card since he was called a monkey when he was a baby.

It was SUPER easy to make.  I cute the shapes out directly with my Expression which I haven't done is forever!  It was kind of fun to use the Expression and not cut shapes out through Cricut Craftroom.  I followed the instructions exactly at the above post and this my version of the card.

Sorry for the shadows on my pics.  I need to get my "real" camera out and stop using my phone camera.

I am just entering into the world of stamping and so far LOVE it!!!  The "it's your birthday!" and the "let's party!" stamps are from the Birthday Cheer pack from Fiskars.  The six pack is from a company called Stamps Happen and the set is called Summer Fun.

The envelope for this card was made with the Martha Stewart Scoreboard.  I cut out a piece of card stock at 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 inches and then scored each side at 3 1/8 inches.  Glued the sides together and viola!

Sand Jar Labels

Earlier this year, my friend Amber and I had a genius idea to collect sand from every location we travel to and put into jars.  I decided to use Kerr wide mouthed mason jars which you can purchase at Walmart for about $11 for 12 jars.  Using the Cricut and my various cartridges, I have so far managed to make each one with a different font and layout.

On the bottom of each jar I wrote the date as well.  The plan is to have them nicely displayed somewhere in the house, but my husband and I haven't quite figured out where yet. :)  It is really cool to see each jar side by side to see the different color and texture of each jar.  Unfortunately, it's hard to see it in the pictures, but there is definitely a difference between each one.

Birthday card using Wild Card Tweety

Hi Everyone!  My craftroom is coming along very nicely, but isn't picture worthy yet.  Crafting has resumed which makes me (and my husband, haha) VERY happy!

Yesterday I made a birthday card for my husband's Grandmother.  She is turning 84! :)  I used the Tweety design on the original Wild Card Cricut cartridge.  I cut the card and envelope out at 5 inches, along with the envelope liner, card, card liner, frame, and the little bird. :)

I added some little diamonds for the eye of the bird as well as to accent the Happy Birthday.  I cut the Happy Birthday and the word "grandma" out from the Lyrical Letters cartridge which was some great fonts!

Hope everyone has a good week! :)

Wedding binder :)

My sister-in-law got engaged on 4th of July (YAY!!)  We were chatting about plans and she mentioned she needed to get a binder to collect all of her papers in.  So.... I made a quick trip to Michael's to get some paper and embellishments and Staples for a 1 1/2 inch binder and white dividers.  The wedding will be sometime in October 2013 and their colors are going to be slate grey and rusty orange. Super cute!!

Using my Cricut Expression, I cut out the words Brandi & Kyle 2013 using the Lyrical Letters cartridge with the Connected Font.  My favorite adhesive right now is my ATC gun, but unfortunately I couldn't use it with this project.  I used Tombo Mona Aqua liquid glue to stick on the letters.

For the dividers, I used a font called Giddyup Std in Word 2010.  I also put some fabrics leaves on each divider.  I wasn't quite sure what to do with them but HAD to use them! :)
